ArmInfo. Moscow considers it extremely important to hold a meeting at the level of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. On June 28, during a traditional briefing, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said.
She again reminded that Moscow adheres to the position that the relevant departments of the two countries should provide information on a possible meeting of the parties. "But if such a meeting is agreed and will be held, we really want effective results and a good atmosphere, because now it is especially necessary for solving those problems that are on the agenda, including two states," she said. Zakharova.
Referring to the statement of State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin in Baku on the Karabakh settlement, Zakharova called on the media to be constructive. She also stressed that everyone perfectly understands what attention is paid to both sides to this or that statement, and called for clarifying with the speaker himself what he meant by this or that expression.
At the same time Zakharova stressed that Moscow's position has not changed and it is fundamental. "We are working with both sides to achieve the result and we say that this issue is one of our priorities on the international agenda, therefore, the achievement of a settlement on the basis of fixed agreements, and agreed positions by the parties, and mutual respect, certainly meets our interests," she said, stressing in this context that Russia's basic approaches to issues have not changed.
At the same time, she stated that there were many statements that sounded from different lips on the subject matter. "You know that the official point of view is officially issued, so my advice, always clarify through those who say exactly what they said or meant, in this case I do not consider it necessary to dig and compare quotes of what was said and how it was said We really believe that confrontational rhetoric only leads to the continuation of confrontation. Of course, such statements, which from our point of view did not add effectiveness to the main task, sounded from different sides. The main task is that such statements, I mean unconstructive ones - do not interfere with the common goal, but different representatives make them in different formats. "Much, unfortunately, does not correspond to those statements that were in fact," - she noted, adding that often quotes broke out of context or were distorted.
In conclusion, she once again called for addressing the official position, which is known and has not changed, and not try to complicate the already difficult situation.
