ArmInfo. The Armenian government at the June 15 session released the chairman of the RA Investigation Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan from his post.
According to RA First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, the release of the head of the SC of Armenia was made on the basis of the fifth part of the 20th article and the first and second subparagraphs of the 22nd article of the law "On the Investigative Committee".
To recall, on June 11, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Aghvan Hovsepyan, resigned. In his statement, in particular, he wished good luck to the new leadership of the UK, noting that he left the existing structure in his inheritance. He also wished the investigators to continue to maintain their independence from other structures and branches of power, refrain from participating in political processes and adhere to the norms of the law.
It is noteworthy that a month ago Hovsepyan stated that he did not intend to resign, since the post he held was not political. It should be noted that the heads of the SC, the Special Investigative Service, the Court of Cassation, according to the legislation of Armenia, can resign only on their own or because of their state of health, they can not be dismissed by the decision of the prime minister or the president. Nevertheless, over the past few days, the heads of these departments have consistently submitted statements of resignation. So far, only Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan and Head of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan have retained their post
