ArmInfo.Minister of Justice of Armenia Artak Zeynalyan delegation led by the head of the department of regional programs of the Eastern Neighborhood in the Directorate of Neighborhood and Enlargement of the European Commission Vasilis Maragos.
As the press service of the Justice Ministry told ArmInfo, the head of the EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalsky also participated in the meeting.
The Armenian Minister expressed gratitude to the Eastern Partnership for rendering assistance in implementing reforms in the country, in particular in the sphere of justice. Zeynalyan assured that the government is determined to implement the expectations of the people in a short time and then presented short-term and long-term projects implemented in the sphere of justice.
In turn, Svitalsky confirmed the readiness of the EU to cooperate with Armenia and noted that he wants to harmonize the expectations of the new Armenian government with the launched Armenia-EU partnership. The ambassador assured that the EU is ready to implement new and ambitious projects in Armenia.
Meanwhile, Maragos considered important the existence of justice and the rule of law, especially in the context of economic development, attracting foreign investors and stressed the importance of activities aimed at increasing transparency and accountability in the field of justice.
The parties also discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including the implementation of new projects in Armenia.
