ArmInfo. Moscow is dissatisfied with deployment of US laboratories on the territories of the CSTO member states, including in Armenia, Kommersant informs.
According to the source, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov raised this issue at the meeting of CSTO Foreign Ministers in Almaty on June 11.
The matter concerns reference-laboratories located on the territories of Armenia and Kazakhstan, which were opened with financial support from the USA and of which Russia is concerned of. Such laboratories function in Ukraine and Georgia as well. "Our intelligence agencies and scientists are concerned over opening of these laboratories. They do not rule out that this somehow can be used against us one day. They do not locate them in Western Europe, do they? the Russian diplomat complained. According to him Moscow would like to have access to those laboratories.
The source informs that the possibility of signing a separate document with Yerevan on cooperation in the field of biological research is being discussed. The document will give Russian specialists access to the laboratories functioning on Armenia's territory. To note, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan also participates in the event.
