ArmInfo. Former US permanent representative to the UN, member of the Selection Committee of the Aurora Award Samantha Power visited the memorial complex of the victims of the Armenian Genocide Tsitsernakaberd and paid tribute to the memory of innocent victims.
"I am so excited that I am finally in Armenia, thanks to the Aurora Award for the promotion of humanism ideas and the Armenian Genocide Museum in Yerevan for your activities dedicated to the memory of 1.5 million victims of the 1915 genocide," Power wrote in her Twitter microblog.
The humanitarian initiative "Aurora" was created in 2015 by three like-minded people who decided to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, supporting projects that honor their rescuers. Since then more than 300 people and organizations have joined the project, inspired by the intention to realize the gratitude of the whole people. Additional resources allow the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative to launch projects aimed at solving current problems, and to give hope for a better future to those who need it. "Aurora" calls on those who were lucky enough to be saved and get a chance to start a new life, express their gratitude in deed and become a new generation of saviors. So the relay of good will continue, empathy will replace sympathy, and we, paying tribute to the memory of the survivors, will accept everyone who believes in universal human values.
