ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stressed the importance of the development of the Armenian-German partnership during the meeting with the German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler. The press service of the Armenian government reports.
Mr. Pashinyan stressed that the Armenian government is interested in implementing the steps that will give a new impetus to the expansion and strengthening of bilateral political and economic contacts. "We welcome the development of infrastructure in Armenia from Germany, as well as the implementation of the program in other areas, and are ready to raise the cooperation between our countries to a new level, which will promote the activation of trade and economic relations, attract investment and their effective implementation," said Pashinyan.
At the same time, he stressed the need for cooperation on the implementation of reforms in Armenia in several areas.
The ambassador expressed his conviction that joint efforts will make it possible to stimulate multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Germany. According to him, such initiatives are needed that will help stimulate investment projects in different areas.
The diplomat considered promising for interaction such sectors as industry, infrastructure development, energy and others.
The meeting discussed issues of increasing the volume of trade between the two countries, the geopolitical situation in the region, holding parliamentary elections in Armenia, reforming the Electoral Code, and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
Touching upon the issue of holding elections, the prime minister stressed the importance of changing the Electoral Code in such a way that it guaranteed them in accordance with the criteria of freedom, justice and democracy.
