ArmInfo. The Armenian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimyan, at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, took part in the meeting in the format "NATO Committee on Partnership and Security based on Cooperation + Armenia".
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, an evaluation report on the implementation of the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (2017) was discussed at the meeting.
Hovakimyan spoke about the processes in Armenia, noting that the country's priorities in foreign policy and security remain unchanged, and the republic is committed to realizing all the commitments undertaken.
In this context, it was stressed that Armenia, being a member of the CSTO and the Eurasian Economic Union, at the same time is developing cooperation with the European Union and NATO.
Speaking about Armenia-NATO interaction within the framework of the IPAP, Hovakimyan stressed the importance of an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The representative of the NATO member countries highly appreciated the cooperation with Armenia within the framework of the MDP, expressed gratitude to the Armenian side for participating in peacekeeping operations in Kosovo and Afghanistan, while expressing support to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs dealing with the Karabakh conflict settlement, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful format for the settlement of the problem based on three well-known principles.
Hovakimyan also met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller. The latter highly appreciated the political dialogue and cooperation with Armenia within the framework of the MDP. The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation.
