The working group of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, headed by the Chief of the Engineer Troops - the Chief of the Armed Forces Department, Major- General Ishkhan Matevosyan in Moscow, takes part in the third international conference on humanitarian demining and countering improvised explosive devices.
According to the press service of the Defense Ministry, the conference will be held May 22-23 at the "Patriot" congress and exhibition center (Kubinka, Moscow region).
To note, the conference, which will be held under the supervision of the Chief of the Engineer Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Lieutenant-General Yuri Stavitsky, about 100 delegates from more than 20 countries of the world, as well as representatives of a number of international and non- governmental organizations - the Geneva Center for Humanitarian Demining, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and others.
The first day of the conference will be held on May 22 in the Patriot Exhibition and Convention Center (Kubinka, Moscow region), where the experts of the participating countries will share their experience in the field of humanitarian demining and countering improvised explosive devices. On the second day - May 23 - at the International Mine Action Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Nakhabino, Moscow Region), the participants will get acquainted with the facilities and the educational and material base of the Center, with the means of engineering weapons and equipment of the Russian Armed Forces (means of protecting the sapper, mine and explosive objects, underwater demining, tools used for demining and cleaning the terrain), demonstration of practical actions of the mobile demining group at the multifunctional mobile complex "MICR", mine clearing with the use of the mobile robotic complex "Uran- 6". Specialists of the mine action center will demonstrate the order of keeping and training dogs. Also, the principles of the homemade explosive devices used by terrorists in Syria and methods of fighting them will be clearly demonstrated.
