ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia is investigating the case of fraud involving the employees of the Traffic Police and the CES.
Four criminal cases initiated by the RA Prosecutor's Office under articlesfull 184 and 315 of the RA Criminal Code on fraud or for causing property damage by abuse of trust and due to negligence were transferred to the investigation committee.
According to the report of the Control Chamber of Armenia, from January to November 2016-2017, the leaders of the two taxi services, together with other people involved in the case, instead of the drivers who carried out traffic accidents, submitted to the authorities the data of persons not related to these violations and not having income and property.
As a result, the Road Police issued more than 6,000 fines for the amount of 47,512,800 drams for individuals who do not have income or property.
As a result, the CES, terminated enforcement proceedings to recover these amounts in the absence of persons on whom administrative offenses were written off, income and property.
The materials of the case also revealed that under the above scheme, private drivers were also able to avoid paying fines. In this case, the uncollected amount was 15.725.300 drams.
