ArmInfo. In the current situation, when the Republican Party has an absolute majority in the parliament, it can sabotage the activities of the new government, and judging by the statements of the RPA representatives, it will do so. The first Armenian president Levon Ter-Petrosyan wrote about this in his article published by the portal ilur.am.
At the same time, he stressed that so far to achieve the set goals, the new Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan used the resource of mass protests, which was perceived with understanding by the international community as a manifestation of democracy. At the same time, Ter-Petrosyan stresses that Pashinyan will not be able to use this resource to pressure the parliament in order to promote his initiatives. <This resource has already been exhausted. It is one thing to exert pressure on the parliament as the leader of the opposition, the other being the prime minister. This time, the international community will not tolerate this, since such an approach will be regarded as the pressure of one branch of power on another, and the one whose results by election were recognized by the same international community, "Ter-Petrosyan said, adding that the way out situation are extraordinary parliamentary elections in the process of reforming the Electoral Code.
At the same time, the first president notes that the RPA will try to obstruct this way, because the early parliamentary elections do not proceed from its interests, the Republicans are not sure of their victory in the case of new elections.
Summarizing, Ter-Petrosyan expresses the hope that political forces will show prudence and on a consensus basis will find a way out of the current situation, which is a threat to statehood.
