ArmInfo. The newly-elected Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan kept his promise and came to the Republic Square, where, despite the rain, thousands of demonstrators awaited him.
"You are a proud citizen of the Republic of Armenia, today you won, and now no one dares to encroach upon your victory, but I would like us to clearly record your victory and its essence." The victory is not that I was elected prime minister of Armenia. No matter who will be the prime minister of Armenia, today only one subject has the right to decide who can be in power, and this subject is a citizen of Armenia," Pashinyan said.
The people took this statement with delight and began to chant "Nikol!".
The state rank, Pashinyan continued, whether it is the rank of the president, premier, deputy or minister, is only a service to the people, and henceforth the people should take care of all the officials honestly and with dignity serve the people. The people should take their step, as did in April 2018. Proceeding from the foregoing, assuming the post of Prime Minister of Armenia, I declare that I serve the Armenian people, the citizen of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Artsakh, the Republic of Armenia. Long live freedom, Armenia and our children who already live in a free and independent Armenia," Pashinyan said.
