ArmInfo. Representatives of Yelk bloc did not discuss the issue on their participation in the personnel of a new government, Edmon Marukyan, MP from Yelk faction stated on May 4 during the conversation with the journalists.
"We hope that on May 8 Nikol Pashinyan will be elected prime minister, and after that we will begin discussions on how to form a government and start reforms of the Electoral Code," said Marukyan.
Asked whether after May 8, there will be no incidents due to the fact that there is no more opposition in the parliament, which, however, is a requirement of the law, Marukyan noted that such conversations are not serious, since the prime minister has not yet been elected.
The MP also noted that in any case it will be necessary to discuss the decisions with the RPA, as the Republican Party has the majority of National Assembly, and without its consent, no bill will not be accepted. "I want to note that in international practice already there were cases when the Prime Minister represents a parliamentary minority. Be that as it may, this is a temporary situation. When 3 parliamentary factions nominate a candidate, and the fourth faction, which at the moment is the majority, supports this candidacy, a government is formed that will be temporary, "the deputy noted. The deputy also said that the early parliamentary elections can be prepared and held until the fall. Marukyan said that the question whether the block "Elk" will go to early elections together or separately has not been discussed yet. And to the question whether the conflict is settled in the bloc, the deputy said that there are no conflicts in the bloc. Yelk bloc includes Civil Contract, Prosperous Armenia and Republic parties.
