Pashinyan: Karen Karapetyan should not show prime-ministerial  ambitions, he has just and only  to recognize the victory of the  nonviolent, velvet revolution

A number of Republican Party deputies have officially announced that they are ready to vote for the candidacy proposed by  the people for the post of Prime  Minister, opposition lawmaker  Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the national movement for civil disobedience said , addressing the people at  the Republic Square.

According to Pashinyan, Karen Karapetyan hoped that after April 24,  namely on April 25, people will not go to street protests. "But today  it became obvious that Karapetyan can only immediately recognize the  victory of a nonviolent, velvet revolution, Karen Karapetyan should  not show his prime-ministerial ambitions, as far as  he will not  stand  at the rule of the country. "Thus, we demand the immediate and  complete surrender of the Republican Party to the people" , - he  declared.

As the opposition leader pointed out, the question of Karen  Karapetyan's resignation, which was repeatedly discussed today, and  which, in the end, refuted personally by the acting  Prime Minister,  should be considered only in the context of the laws of the Republic  of Armenia. Since the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan, according to  Pashinyan, the Armenian Government has resigned in full. "Karen  Karapetyan declared himself a prime minister, but our lawyers today,  having studied the Armenian legislation, came to the conclusion that,  in the conditions of the prime minister's resignation, the acting  prime minister cannot exist." It turns out that Karen Karapetyan can  act only as the acting  first vice-premier, "- the opposition law  maker said. 

Nevertheless, as Pashinyan said, Karapetyan today invited thelaw  enforcement entities leaders  to his residence  and proposed to  introduce a state of emergency in the republic. "I am surprised at  his logic, if there was such an opportunity, did not Serge Sargsyan  first resort to it?", Asked the leader of the protest movement.

As noted by Pashinyan, supporters of Karapetyan disseminate  information that he allegedly secured Moscow's support in the matter  of possible premiership. "I urge not to spread such a provocation, as  today I met with Moscow officials and they again confirmed that they  are not going to interfere in the internal affairs of Yerevan," he  said. At the same time, the opposition MP called on businessmen,  supporters of Karen Karapetyan, not to interfere in Armenia's  domestic policy either.

As for the situation inside the RPA and the relations of the party  members with the acting president. Prime Minister, then, according to  Pashchinyan, Karapetyan does not enjoy full support. Even a number of  RPA deputies today officially announced that they are ready to  support the candidacy of the prime minister appointed by the people  on the ballot in the parliament. "As several days ago I said that  Serzh Sargsyan no longer has levers of power in Armenia, today I can  also say the same about Karen Karapetyan," Nikol Pashinyan said,  stressing that no power structure will follow his order, for the  simple reason that the current acting president does not have legal  powers.

At the end of his speech, Nikol Pashiyan said that actions of civil  disobedience tomorrow at 12.00 will be continued - streets, bridges  will be closed again. "A few more days and we will close the page of  this story," he assured
