ArmInfo. Perspectives of Armenian-Italian cooperation in the sphere of education were discussed on April 10 during the meeting of acting Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan and Italian Ambassador to Armenia Vincenzo del Monaco.
As the press service of the Ministry told ArmInfo, the meeting was also attended by those responsible for the sphere of education in Italy, who are on a working visit to Armenia.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to improving the effectiveness of studying the Italian language in Armenia, and the possibility of establishing a school in the republic with in-depth study of Italian.
Mkrtchyan stated that Armenia attaches importance to increasing the effectiveness of learning foreign languages, and practical steps are being taken to improve the effectiveness of in-depth study of English, French, German and Russian. He also said that in September it is planned to open a school of Armenian- Chinese friendship. In this context, Mkrtchyan stressed the importance of establishing a school in Armenia with in-depth study of the Italian language. In turn, Monaco confirmed the willingness of the Italian side to assist in the establishment of a school in Armenia with in-depth study of the Italian language. According to him, these days in Armenia there are representatives of various structures of the Italian education system, including representatives of the Italian National Society after Dante Alighieri, who are impressed by the meetings with the representatives of the educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the Italian side, Dante Alighieri will be able to assist in founding a school with in-depth study of Italian Armenia.
Italian National Society after Dante Alighieri - the main and oldest organization in Italy in the field of the dissemination of the Italian language and culture abroad, founded by the Decree of the King of Italy back in 1889.
