ArmInfo. Armenia tightens requirements for technical security in public places. Corresponding instructions were voiced by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan at the meeting of the government.
The prime minister recalled that on April 2, around 8:44 pm local time at Northern Avenue 5, an explosion occurred in the cafe of the Burger King's cafe in Yerevan's center. During the explosion, 8 people were injured, including two children: three citizens of Russia, three citizens of Armenia and two - Iran. In fact, a criminal case was opened.
According to the head of government, the incident is the basis for toughening of the state policy in the issues of fire and technical safety requirements. In this regard, Karen Karapetyan instructed the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to take measures within two months to ensure fire and technical safety and technical standards at production facilities, catering facilities, service companies and services, as well as to identify omissions. In case of violations, provide for short terms for their elimination, and if these obligations are not fulfilled, apply strict measures provided by law. To ensure the safety of work in these structures, the prime minister called for the involvement of relevant inspectorates of the Ministry of Health. In addition, Karapetyan suggested to the representatives of the business community and the heads of the organizations involved in the sphere of services and services, on their own initiative and in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, to take measures to identify possible problems and eliminate them, raising the level of technical safety at the respective facilities. The heads of the Ministry for Emergencies and Economic Development and Investments were instructed within two months to develop a package of proposals to improve control mechanisms in the field of technical security, as well as clarification of legislative provisions, implementation of technical regulations of the EAEU and elimination of existing gaps in practice. Karen Karapetyan asked the Minister for Emergency Situations of Armenia David Tonoyan to pay attention to the fact that these instructions did not lead to administrative problems and incorrect perception or execution of instructions. Note that, according to preliminary data, a gas cylinder exploded. As a result of the incident, eight people were injured.
