ArmInfo. The agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership opens wide opportunities for cooperation between Armenia and the EU. On March 28, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defense and Security Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan stated at the meeting with the head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski.
According to the press service of the Parliament, Nahapetyan informed the Ambassador about the ratification of the agreement envisaged by the National Assembly in April this year and expressed the hope that the EU member states will also ratify it. Koryun Nahapetyan noted that the agreement has broad prospects for cooperation on a number of issues - conflict resolution and crisis management, disaster risk reduction, police reform and other issues.
Piotr Switalski noted that the EU member states do not see obstacles to the ratification of the agreement under discussion, stressing that each state has its own procedure for ratifying international treaties.
Mr. Switalski also noted that the European Union is ready to develop and expand cooperation in all directions envisaged by the agreement.
