ArmInfo. The Armenian parliament at the meeting on March 21 in the first reading introduced amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure, proposed by a group of deputies.
According to one of the authors of the document, Karine Ajemyan, according to the bill, investigators, when making a decision to suspend criminal proceedings, must provide copies of the decision defendants, defenders and other parties in cases provided for in paragraphs 4 and 5 of clause 1 of Article 31 of the CCP. The purpose of this measure is to allow the parties to appeal against the decision.
The investigator must send a copy of the decision to suspend the proceedings, if the accused is seriously ill, or is outside Armenia, or if there is an insurmountable circumstance that prevents the continuation of criminal proceedings. Moreover, the sending of the copy of the decision by the investigator must be carried out "immediately".
