ArmInfo. The newly elected President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan held a meeting with members of the East-West Institute in New York.
According to the press service of the newly-elected president, issues related to the implementation of joint programs in Armenia were discussed during the meeting. The Institute was established in 1980. At present, the analysts of the organization are focused on countering modern challenges that destabilize stability in various countries of the world.
The Institute in various fields is taking initiatives such as preventive diplomacy, economic and regional security, cybersecurity. The honorary presidents of the organization were such political, economic, scientific figures of various countries as former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari, former President of Romania Emil Constantinescu, former Vice Chancellor and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Hans Dietrich Genscher, founder of PepsiCo Donald Kedal and Armen Sargsyan has been holding the post of vice-president in the institute since 2008.
The International Expert Institute East-West was established in 1980 to discuss problems in relations between the USSR and the United States.
