ArmInfo. RA Education and Science Minister Levon Mkrtchyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Armenia Tian Erlong.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, a number of issues on the agenda of cooperation with China were discussed in the working order. In particular, the opportunities and problems of obtaining education in Chinese higher educational institutions through interstate programs were touched upon. In this context, Minister Levon Mkrtchyan noted that the RA Law "On military service and the status of serviceman", which entered into force in January 2018, requires the need for a new legal regulation for RA citizens wishing to study at foreign universities.
Expressing his gratitude for effective cooperation, Tian Erlong expressed hope that practical cooperation in the field of education will be continued in subsequent years.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the process of building a Chinese school in Yerevan. It was mentioned that on September 1, 2018 the school will be ready to accept the first students. A number of issues related to the training of teachers and Armenian-Chinese cooperation were also discussed.
