ArmInfo. Chairman of National Assembly Ara Babloyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Brazil to Armenia Agemar de Mendonca Sanctos.
According to the press service of the Parliament, Babloyan stated that far from each other Armenia and Brazil are united by warm friendly relations and the presence of the Brazilian Armenian community.
The Chairman of the National Assembly, referring to the activities of the Armenian community of Brazil, described its members as honest and worthy citizens.
The speaker stated that the relations between the RA and Brazil are developing and expanding from year to year, opening the horizons for new spheres of cooperation. Babloyan stressed the importance of visits at the highest level and the agreements reached in the end.
Speaking about the activity of the parliamentary friendship groups and revitalizing the cooperation, the Chairman of the Parliament expressed hope that as an experienced diplomat Sanctos will help deepen the Armenian-Brazilian relations and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The parties referred to the regional issues, highlighting the steps to ensure peace and stability.
The newly appointed Brazilian Ambassador to Armenia, thanking Babloyan for the reception, presented his forthcoming plans, initiatives to expand bilateral relations and cooperation.
According to the Ambassador , the agreements reached during the meeting of the heads of the two countries, in particular the signed agreements, will be implemented after their ratification in the Senate of Brazil. The Ambassador noted that the ratification would allow implementing new programs in the agricultural sector, opening the Brazilian market for the Armenian producer, and increasing the volume of trade.
Agemar de Mendonca Sanctos noted that he is a supporter of business diplomacy and he has many programs related to Armenia.
The newly appointed Ambassador expressed readiness to work closely with the National Assembly of Armenia, promoting the activation of the activity of parliamentary friendship groups.
