ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations David Tonoyan took part in the consultation on the installation and operation of a laser inclinometer at the Garni Observatory on February 13.
According to the press service of MES, in Armenia for the first time installed a magnetron laser inclinometer for predicting seismic risks. This device was developed by the Russian Institute for Nuclear Research. The equipment is designed to assess the medium and long-term seismic hazard and provides an ideal accuracy of the earth's angular vibrations. This is also a great achievement in terms of earthquake predictions. Welcoming the initiative of Armenian and Russian scientists at the conference, Tonoyan expressed the hope that later this device will be installed in other seismically dangerous zones of the republic, and a stable network of seismic hazard assessment will be created. "Compared to previous devices, this device approximately 1000 times more accurately determines the vibration of the earth," the minister said.
