ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov (Russia), Stefan Visconti (France) and Andrew Scheffer (USA) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, who arrived in Yerevan as part of the regional visit.
According to the press service of Armenian MFA, the co-chairs informed about their meetings held in Baku.
Nalbandian and the co-chairs discussed issues related to the principled agreement reached during the January meeting of the Armenian and Azeri FMs in Krakow concerning the expansion of the office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. The head of the Armenian foreign ministry drew the attention of the co-chairs to the fact that, unlike the co- chairs and Armenia, Baku has not yet made any statements about the agreement and when it will be ready for its implementation. "Strange memory of Baku: entangled in the web of their fictitious falsifications, they forget the agreements reached a month before and earlier, which the co-chairs repeatedly announced, but at the same time with distorting interpretations they remember the documents of 25 years ago, to which the co- for known reasons, do not even refer, "said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Informing the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs about the yesterday's killing of the Armenian soldier as a result of the flagrant violation of the ceasefire regime from the Azerbaijani side at the contact line of the troops, Nalbandian stressed that even the presence of co-chairs in the region does not deter Baku from provocative actions characteristic of him, thus Azerbaijan demonstrates its disdain for the co-chair countries. Touching upon Baku's statements that Azerbaijan is interested in the speediest settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the Armenian FM noted that the words should be fixed by actions: the agreements reached at the summits in Vienna, St. Petersburg and Geneva must be implemented, the proposals of the co-chairs for the settlement of the conflict should be taken as the basis for negotiations, to move forward on this basis.
