ArmInfo. The law enforcement bodies of Armenia are obliged to immediately immediately check the information related to threats to the website of "Medialab.am", which were published in the social network "Facebook" in criminal procedure.
This is stated in the statement of the Human Rights Defender, which leads the office of the Ombudsman. The human rights defender believes that the person who committed the threat should be held severely liable in order to prevent similar phenomena in the future. "The threat of violence against any journalist or the media is strictly punishable," the Ombudsman said. Employees of the Ombudsman's Office initiated a study on their own initiative of this issue, requiring information from law enforcement agencies, related to this case. On January 31 a group of journalistic organizations issued a statement demanding to find and bring to justice a stranger who threatened with massacre of the "Medialab.am" website in the social network "Facebook". After the information on the purchase of flowers by the Ministry of Defense in December for 7 million drams and about corruption risks appeared on this site, threats from one of the users of the social network "Facebook" were received to the representatives of the site, promising reprisals in the style of "Charley Ebdo". According to the editor-in-chief of the site, Marianna Grigoryan, this is not the first case of threats to the site, however, this time is different. So in August of last year, unknown people broke the windows of the site editor's car and stole caricatures of the country's leadership. The criminal was never found, and the criminal case was closed. After these threats, Marianna Grigoryan appealed to law enforcement agencies.
