On January 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh Masis Mailyan received the member of the European Parliament from Sweden, member of the Foreign Relations Commission Lars Adaktusson, who arrived in Stepanakert, accompanied by the chairman of the Armenian Federation of Europe for Justice and Democracy, Gaspar Karampetyan.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister presented the priorities of Artsakh's foreign policy, in particular, steps aimed at making progress in the processes of international recognition of Artsakh and the peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict. Touching upon the achievements in the process of state building in Artsakh, the Foreign Minister stressed the commitment of the people and authorities of the Republic of Artsakh to strengthening an independent statehood based on democratic values and principles. In this context, Masis Mailyan reiterated the readiness of Artsakh to cooperate with the EU aimed at strengthening democratic institutions in Artsakh.
The head of the foreign policy department expressed confidence that the EU's cooperation with Artsakh will contribute to the strengthening of peace and stability in the region, as it will demonstrate the unacceptability of Azerbaijan's policy of isolating Artsakh as a means of resolving the conflict.
