The Comprehensive and Expanded Partnership Agreement will deepen Armenia-European Union cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, environment, investment, and the expansion of societies. This was announced by the head of the delegation of the National Assembly from the rostrum of PACE Meeting in Armenia in PACE Arpine Hovhannisyan.
She stressed that the document will give a new impetus to the sectoral cooperation between the RA and the EU, where in recent years the parties have made significant progress and focused on infrastructure ties. The Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament also noted that this agreement, along with important political issues, also provides for combining efforts to combat international terrorism, preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and promoting peaceful conflict resolution.
Arpine Hovhannisyan emphasized that, as a landlocked country, Armenia attaches great importance to various integration projects. "Today, when the world faces serious problems, dialogue and cooperation are more important than ever." In the context of globalization, instability in one region may have greater consequences, so we must unite our efforts to ensure stability and peace. "Cooperation between various integration structures can greatly contribute to the formation of a common space without separation lines, "she said.
The head of the Armenian delegation to PACE also stressed that Armenia's firm position is that participation in one integration community does not limit the possibility of cooperation with other structures.
"This is our formula for membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and our cooperation with the EU."
