ArmInfo. Tsarukyan block does not intend to join the initiative of the Yelk bloc to hold a march against the price increase for a number of essential goods.
Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the bloc, who visited the parliament after a long absence, stated today in a conversation with journalists that he considers this action to be an end in itself and does not think that by carrying out the procession it will be possible to reduce the prices in the republic. Meanwhile, he said that the bloc headed by him will take part in the parliamentary hearings on the price increase on January 23. During the hearings, the block will present its position and indicate ways of solving the problem.
Meanwhile, on the eve of the head of the fraction of the "Elk" bloc Nikol Pashinyan assured that if the broad masses of the people join the procession, this will force the authorities to implement appropriate changes in the Tax Code, which will lead to lower prices. According to him, only mention of the protest action forced the authorities to make some concessions - organize parliamentary hearings, hold a meeting in the presidential residence. "It will still be when the people go out into the street," Pashinyan said. The procession of the block "Elk" will be held on January 19. A number of essential goods have risen in Armenia in recent months. The authorities explain this by objective and subjective reasons. Among the objective reasons, international price increases and Armenia's tax and customs obligations within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union are indicated.
