ArmInfo. As of December 15, 2017, Armenia's loan obligations for a $ 200 million arms agreement amounted to $ 111.4 million. In other words, the weapons received by the Armenian side two weeks before the deadline for the supply of arms amounted to only 55% of the $ 200 million stipulated. This is reported by the "Union of Informed Citizens".
The initiative recalls that on June 26, 2015, an Armenian-Russian agreement was signed in Yerevan on a loan for the supply of weapons in the amount of $ 200 million, which entered into force in February 2016 / and the weapons acquired under this agreement, should have been was delivered during 2016 and 2017 (the deadline is December 31, 2017).
"Most of the weapons worth $ 111.4 million were delivered or produced in December 2016 and in September, November and December 2017. It is difficult to say whether the Russian side will have time to deliver weapons for the remaining $ 88.6 million by the end of December. , if, nevertheless, some of the weapons will not be delivered within the specified time "- the initiative informs.
At the same time, the "Union of Informed Citizens" notes that most of the weapons supplied under the agreement were rather old (technologies of the 80's, 70's and even 60's), but it also provided for the supply of relatively modern weapons ( 10-20 years ago), for example, heavy flame systems TOS 1-A "Solntsepek" and rocket systems of volley fire "Smerch". The operational-tactical missile systems Iskander were purchased from Russia outside this agreement.
The initiative is also reminded that a few weeks ago the National Assembly of Armenia approved the signing of a $ 100 million loan agreement for the supply of weapons from Russia.
