ArmInfo. The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union should adopt the example of Armenia, study its experience of achieving success and mobilizing its capabilities even in a difficult situation.
This was stated at the conference "Three Years of the EAEU: Achievements and Prospects", during the annual meeting of the Eurasian Expert Club the adviser of the Russian Ambassador to Armenia Alexander Vasilev stated. According to him, Armenia continues to show good results not only in the sphere of trade, but also in the processing industry, the high-tech sphere, in which Armenia has very significant results. Nevertheless, he stressed, there are several nuances that, while summarizing the three-year experience of Eurasian integration, still remain relevant. "First of all, this is insufficient propaganda among the population of the member countries, and it is important to understand that the Unified Energy System, unlike other integration unions, is not bureaucratized by any superfluous mechanisms and is open to discussions and new ideas," the diplomat said.
The Ambassador of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia, Igor Nazaruk, noted that at present there are changes in the liberalization of the markets of the EAEU, work is under way to mark the products produced in the member countries as a single product of the EAEU. In 2017, the Ambassador noted the growth in a number of key economic indicators. However, according to him, the figures would be much more significant and tangible if some countries did not feel the negative impact of the sanctions policy on the part of "the powerful of this world." Despite this, the diplomat in 2018 predicted an economic breakthrough. According to him, 2018 will be held under the aegis of the formation of common energy markets. "The new element is the signing of a framework agreement on partnership between Armenia and the EU, which can serve as an additional element for enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation between two very powerful integration structures," the ambassador concluded.
According to Timur Urazaev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia, over the 3-year period of formation of the Union, despite certain regional and global difficulties, all countries recorded positive dynamics, and for the second year in a row Armenia has shown the best results. "The dynamics is fixed both in terms of economic growth and exports to both the EAPC countries and to third countries, IT can become a locomotive for Armenia, which can drag other sectors." "Belarus assumed the role of this locomotive, but even from the Soviet times, Armenia was a leader and today shows good results, which can become a locomotive for the development of other economically important spheres, "said Ambassador Uruzayev.
He also stressed that the policy should only be an instrument for implementing projects in the EAEU area, but it should not be the main one in shaping the overall economy in the territory of the union. "Politics will not feed people, you will not raise your salaries, politics should be just a tool for implementing all ideas and projects in the EAEU." We are committed to continue supporting the overall strategy of combining our economies into one and will use political instruments minimally to do not interfere with economic processes, "the Ambassador of Kazakhstan summed up.
The conference is organized by the research and analytical public organization "Integration and Development" and the scientific and educational fund "Noravank".
