ArmInfo. Realizing the impossibility of staying in the current state and in the future, Armenia has neither much, nor little, to become a partner of the United States, one of the initiators and leaders of the Karabakh movement, the well-known analyst Igor Muradyan, is convinced.
"Neighbor Georgia continues to be perceived as the main partner, the beneficiary of financial and military assistance to the US People working in NATO and the EU understand very well what Georgia has turned into for these two structures. We did not become such a country, however, it is very important that we realized the need for change existing situation in the future, "he noted to 1-in.am.
The analyst forecasts a rapid change in the situation within which, while remaining a partner of Russia, Armenia will try to become a partner of the West, in particular, NATO, which he regards as a good start for Armenia from which the country can benefit. At the same time, Muradyan assesses the signing of the Armenia-EU Agreement as an attempt to embark on the above-mentioned path with good prospects, unless certain people interfere with it.
Muradyan also expects Russia's attempts to prevent similar prospects for Armenia, directly contradicting its interests. In this light, he sees the need for caution by Armenia, while assessing the current situation as a situation in which Russia is afraid of turning Armenia into its enemy by its own hands.
"I am convinced that with the signing of the Agreement with Europe we have begun a new process of rapprochement with the West, first with Europe, then with NATO, from which we should expect very interesting results, in particular, military assistance to the West in Armenia is already ready," the analyst said.
