ArmInfo.The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia conducted an investigation into violations during the elections to local self-government bodies that took place in 10 regions of Armenia on November 5, 2017.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's, 47 signals were received on violations during the elections on 149, 158 and 8 articles of the RA Criminal Code. Thus, there were 32 signals about voting more than once or instead of another person (34-153 article), 2 signals about the issuance of electoral bribes (154 articles), 2 signals about obstructing the work of a journalist or trustee (149 articles), 1 signal about violation of the secrecy of voting (154 articles), 7 signals for compelling the voter to post the result of voting for violation of the secrecy of the vote (154 articles), 2 signals about impeding the exercise of the right to vote (149 articles), 1 signal for voting instead of another person RA).
In order to establish the circumstances of the above mentioned violations signals, with the purpose of conducting urgent investigative actions and providing legal assessment in a short time, the regional offices of the Prosecutor General's Office sent the above-mentioned communications to the local offices of the Investigative Committee and the Police of Armenia. Preliminary examination of signals about violations published by the media prove that the vast majority of them were of a general nature or related to technical issues related to the organization of voting - the use of technical equipment, queues at polling stations, violation of labor regulations by precinct commissions, etc.
