ArmInfo. Representatives of the parliaments of the two countries discussed the Armenian-Iraqi cooperation issues in Yerevan.
The head of the deputy group of the Armenia-Iraq friendship, Arman Saghatelyan, in particular, noted that effective economic and trade cooperation has developed between the two countries. Countries actively cooperate in the spheres of tourism and high technologies.
MP Shirak Torosyan touched upon the Karabakh conflict, stressing that Azerbaijan is trying to ruin the negotiations with its aggression and gives the problem a religious character. Meanwhile, he stressed, Armenia has warm, friendly relations with various countries, regardless of their religion. Iraqi parliamentarians also agreed that the Karabakh conflict should be settled exclusively by peaceful means.
A deputy from the Yezidi community of Armenia, Rustam Makhmudyan, raised the problem of the Iraqi Yezidis, who were injured by the terrorists of the ISIS. He asked the Iraqi authorities for assistance in returning the Yezidi refugees to their places of residence.
