Minister of Health Levon Altunyan received the chief adviser on special issues of the minister and the Ministry of Health of Israel, Professor Shaul Yatsivin and senior scientific officer of the Medical Specialization Licensing Department of the Ministry of Health of Israel Avital Wiener Aurman.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, during the meeting the parties discussed the issues of interaction in the healthcare sphere. Yatsivin also touched upon the quality of education in private medical universities in Armenia. He noted that only 12% of Israeli graduates who graduated from Aybusak Armenian University can successfully pass the exam for medical practice in Israel.
Minister Levon Altunyan agreed that there are some problems and steps are being taken to address them. "Structural changes are under way, according to which, doctors in Armenia will have to fill in the required credits and receive accreditation every 5 years. This law will come into force in 2021, "the minister said.
