Team from Armenia won 6 medals at the International Student Olympiad  in Mathematics

Team from Armenia won 6 medals at the International Student Olympiad  in Mathematics

ArmInfo.According to the results of the next International Student Olympiad in Mathematics (IMC), held from July 31 to August 6 in the Bulgarian city of Blagoevgrad, students from Armenia in total won 6 medals. 

As the press service of  RA Ministry of Education and Science  reports, 6 Armenian participants won 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze  medals.

In the International Student Olympiad in Mathematics participated  teams of 71 universities (331 participants). At the Olympics Armenia  was represented by teams from Yerevan State University (YSU),  American University of Armenia and Russian-Armenian (Slavonic)  University.  The Olympiad was held both in team and individual  competitions. EHU was represented by 4 participants, Albert Gevorgyan  and Vazgen Mikaelyan won gold medals, Avetik Karagulian and Gevorg  Mnatsakanyan silver. Albert Gevorgyan took an honorable 15th place in  the individual standings. In the team championship the team of YSU  took the 7th place.  Artem Kosyan from the American University of  Armenia and - Hrachya Kocharyan, a student of the Russian-Armenian  University at the Olympics won bronze medals. International Student  Olympiad in Mathematics (IMC) is held since 1994.
