ArmInfo. The deputies of the National Assembly of Armenia led by the vice-speaker from the ruling Republican Party Arpine Hovhannisyan visited the Aragatsotn region of  Armenia and visited the Yezidi shrine in the village of Aknalich, paying tribute to the memory of 12,000 innocent Yezidis killed by terrorists of the Islamic state in the Iraqi province of Shanghal.

Then the deputies visited the Yezidi temple, where they also honored  the memory of innocent victims. Vice Speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan, in  an interview with journalists, qualified the massacre of Yazidis in  the north of Iraq by Islamic militants as genocide. At the same time,  referring to the possibility of the adoption by the Armenian  parliament of a resolution on the recognition of the Yezidi genocide,  she noted: "This is not a momentary process."

In his turn, the representative of the Yezidi community in the  Armenian parliament, RPA deputy Rustam Mahmudyan assured that the  National Assembly of Armenia has no fundamental objections to the  recognition of the Yezidis massacre in Iraq in 2014 in one or another  format as genocide.
