ArmInfo. The National Security Service of Armenia called the Ministry of Education and Science to take measures to eliminate violations revealed in non-state universities of the country, in order to exclude such problems in the future.
The problem is that 3 non-state owned universities have issued fake diplomas to students who did not attend classes, and in some cases to persons who did not attend the current and final exams at all . During the investigation of this criminal case it was found out that 20 citizens of Armenia and other countries were forged for fake purposes with forged diplomas. According to the court's decision, 2 rectors were found guilty, and in relation to 3, a preliminary investigation was ordered.
Meanwhile, as reported by Datalex, on June 26 the court of general jurisdiction Kentron and Nork Marash under the leadership of Judge Arshak Vardanyan.received a case against the rector of the St. Teresa University Larisa Hambardzumyan .
As a preventive measure against Larissa Hambardzumyan, a written undertaking not to leave the country was chosen.
It should be noted that false diplomas were issued not only to Armenian citizens, but also to dozens of students from foreign countries, including Iran, USA, Georgia, Russia, Uzbekistan and Israel. To note, recently a scandal erupted in connection with the fact that the Ministry of Health of Israel has not approved diplomas of students who have received education in Armenia for more than a year. Moreover, the Ministry appealed to the Police to find out the validity of diplomas issued to foreign students by Armenian medical universities.
