ArmInfo. The tension is now observed not only in Iran, but also in all countries of the Persian Gulf, but now in the focus of attention of Armenia are Saudi Arabia and Qatar, at by ARF Dashnaktsutyun bureau member and the head of Hay Dat Armenian office on political issues Kiro (Giro) Manoyan stated during the press conference.
According to him, events in Iran, Syria, Iraq, Turkey can lead to serious problems, considering the US policy, which has recently become less moderate. "Recently, Armenia's positive attitude towards Qatar is often discussed, but it is quite logical, since Saudi Arabia has always supported Azerbaijan and Turkey, while Qatar on the contrary wants to deepen political relations with Armenia," the expert said, stressing that the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Qatar were aggravated not only because of disagreements over Iran, but also because they did not agree in their attitude to the Syrian conflict.
As for the relationship between Turkey and Iran, which now agree on Qatar issues, the expert noted that there was always a rivalry between them, which is still going on. "And although in September of this year the Kurds are going to raise the issue of the establishment of an independent Kurdistan, where Turkish and Iran interests are the same again, because they are against it, they will still remain contenders, and Turkey will have to take into account Iran's interests in many other issues," Manoyan said.
Referring to the recent terrorist attacks in Iran, Manoyan noted that recent events can hardly change Teheran policy in general. "However, the fact that Iran blamed Saudi Arabia in preparation of terrorist attack, increased tension in the Gulf countries", Manoyan stressed.
What refers to Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem , the head of Hay Dat stressed that their relationship can enter a new stage and cooperation will become more close. However, according to him, the positions of Ankara and Baku do not coincide with the further development of the situation around the Karabakh conflict. "If Baku constantly tries to heat up the situation and lead to a full-scale war, since it does not record success in the diplomatic field, Ankara does not benefit from a new war in the region," Manoyan explained.
In the regard of activization of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, Manoyan also referred to the issue of Azerbaijani-Turkish military trainings in Nakhichevan. "These trainings are aimed to demonstrate their power to Iran and show Armenian side that they can attack from the side of Nakhichevan too. However, this should urge our authorities to raise the issue of Nakhichevan, as it never belonged to independent Azerbaijan, just as Artsakh", Kiro(Giro) Manoyan concluded.
