ArmInfo.Mark Grigoryan is appointed to the post of Executive Director of the Public Radio of Armenia, such decision was made today during the voting at a meeting of the Council of the Public Television and Radio Company.
Earlier this post was occupied by Arman Saghatelyan, ex Press Secretary of Armenian President, and now the lawmaker of Armenian Parliament from the ruling Republican Party.
Mark Grigoryan(on May 3, 1958, Yerevan)-Armenian and British journalist. Grandson of the architect Mark Grigoryan, brother of music researcher Levon Hakobyan. In 1980, graduating from Yerevan State University, He joined the Yerevan Scientific Research and Design Institute of Automated Urban Management Systems (ERNIPI ASUG). Thesis in the specialty "Russian language" was defended in 1989 at the Vinogradov Institute of Russian Language under the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (now the RAS). He taught at the Yerevan school Pushkin and universities (Yerevan State University and Ananiya Shirakatsi University). In professional journalism came in 1993 as deputy editor of the newspaper "Svoboda" in Yerevan. In 1995-1996 he worked in the journal AIM (Armenian International Magazine). Collaborated with many publications in Armenia and abroad. Author and editor of 16 books, many scientific and journalistic articles. One of the founders of the Caucasus Institute in Yerevan. In 2003, he received a Hellman / Hammett journalist award, which was awarded annually in recognition of "courage in the face of political persecution."
