ArmInfo. On June 12 Armenian National Assembly vice-speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan met Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia T.Urazaev.
Vice Speaker of National Assembly positively assessed the current level of Armenian-Kazakh parliamentary relations and emphasized the Ambassador's contribution to the expansion and deepening of mutual relations. According to Hovhannisyan, parliamentary diplomacy can play a key role in bilateral cooperation, therefore parliamentarians should effectively use this important platform.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Urazaev congratulated Hovhannisyan on appointment to a responsible post and wished her fruitful activity. The Ambassador highly appreciated the work done by the Vice-Speaker to develop a strategy on fight against corruption and presented the steps taken in his country in this area. He stressed the importance of deepening Armenian- Kazakh cooperation in various fields and presented recent programs and plans.
The parties referred to creation of friendship group between Armenia and Kazakhstan in the Parliament of sixth convocation and expressed confidence that its activity will give a new pulse to Armenian-Kazakh friendly relations.
The sides referred also to cooperation in international parliamentary entities and coordinated work on issues presenting mutual interest.
