ArmInfo. The Constitutional Court of Armenia received a lawsuit from the bloc "Yelk" and the party "Prosperous Armenia" on consideration of the constitutionality of 64 and 69 articles of the law on territorial administration. The press secretary of the Constitutional Court Hovhannes Papikyan told ArmInfo correspondent.
According to him, the claim was received as early as June 9, but the day of the meeting of the Constitutional Court on this case has not yet been determined. 26 deputies from two political forces signed the suit, and at the meeting they will be represented by deputies from the "Yelk" bloc Edmond Marukyan and Artak Zeynalyan.
To note, the lawsuit concerns the situation after the elections to the Council of Elders of Vanadzor when the ruling Republican Party, having no majority in the municipality, managed to "push" its representative Mamikon Aslanyan to the post of mayor with the help of various tricks during the elections. However, the latter, not having a majority in the Council, cannot convene and hold meetings of the municipality, and, moreover, make decisions, as a result of which the work of the Vanadzor mayor's office has failed.
