ArmInfo. Anahit Bakhsyan, the leader of Hello Yerevan faction, applied with an open letter to Armenian prime Minister Karen Karapetyan due to cancellation of NA Permanent Commission on Human Rights.
According to the information shared with ArmInfo at the press office of Hello Yerevan faction, Bakhshyan particularly criticized the position of national Assembly in respect to Human Rights protection and protection of Amrneian nationals rights. Bakhshyan referred to the Article 18 of the Constitution (setting the right of effective protection of own freedoms and rights for everybody), stated that with this cancellation of appropriate permanent commission, the National Assembly showed own indifference to Human Rights protection. " The Government of Armenia has no right to deny the human rights defense, justifying that with the lack of time and finances. Under the conditions when there is no entity to put under legal liability all those who fire their employees within the total inactivity of trade unions, the issue of human right requires an intervention at the highest level," Bakhshyan's statement reads. To remind, 9 permanent commissions to be left at Armenian NA instead of actual 12. Such a suggestion was voiced on May19 at National Assembly by Republican Party law maker Hrayr Tovmasyan. According to him, this suggestion is preconditioned by the reduction of law makers number from 131 down to 105, as well as by similarity of several commissions works. It is planned to join the Commissions on human rights and on state and regulatory issues in one. The Commission on health, maternity and childhood will be joined to the commission of social issues. The Commission on agriculture and nature protection will be joined to the commission of rural development and administration. The Commision on European integration will continue its work, specially for the reason that the cooperation with European Union is expected to be improved in upcoming years, which will be supported by appropriate comprehensive agreement to be signed.
