ArmInfo. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin condemned the wounding of the operator of the Armenian TV Company "Shant" David Atoyan on the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani troops from the enemy's bullet.
"Journalists, doctors and representatives of other peaceful professions should not be subjects of attack of the warring parties," Volynkin said, answering the questions of ArmInfo.
He stressed that when humanitarian law is violated there is not a single sensible person who does not condemn this fact. "This incident requires conviction," the diplomat stressed.
Speaking about the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone as a whole, Volynkin added that the ceasefire regime is permanently violated on the contact line, people are dying, which in the 21st century is not permissible. In this context, the diplomat stressed the need for Vienna and St. Petersburg agreements to create an atmosphere of confidence in the conflict zone.
To note, on the eve, on the contact line, the Azerbaijani armed forces bombarded the car of the "Shant" TV Company, as a result of which the operator David Atoyan was injured. Subsequently, he was operated in Stepanakert Medical Center. At present, his state of health is assessed as satisfactory.
