ArmInfo.CIS is ready to develop united anti aircraft and anti- missile defense system, Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Stuff of the Armed Forces of Russia, stated during a session of CIS Military Committee in Minsk.
Russian, Armenian, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan General Stuff Chiefs of Armed Forces participate the session. The servicemen discussed some issues, the main issues were the estimate of challenges and menaces in collective security districts of country-participants, the preparation of military cadres in anti aircraft defense system. Another issue of the agenda was the discussion of creating united BMD and BAD in Central Asian region. The session was closed, that is why any reached agreements were only supposed by followed speeches of the members.
Summarizing the session, Valery Gerasimov told that they worked in another issue, and will continue to develop the theme on creating one CIS anti aircraft and anti missile defense system. They have two-sided signed agreements and a united BMD system is created with Belarus and Armenia. Then comes creation of this kind of system in Central Asian region.
