ArmInfo.The head of Delegation of EU to Armeina, Piotr Switalski will meet with the Chairmen of "Union of Confident Citizens" Public Organization as well as the coordinator of the programs Daniel Ioanesyan.
As the EU Delegation Press service told ArmInfo, the "Union of Confident Citizens" presented information on administrative recourses usage before the parliamentary elections, told about the publication of private information of Daniel Ioanesyan and about the charge of 30 Directors and Teachers against him. In his turn, the ambassador stressed the importance of respect for the right to privacy of personal information, which is protected by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, as well as in the European Convention on Human Rights. Switalski also stressed the importance of a quick, credible, effective and transparent investigation of all the facts about alleged violations committed during the past parliamentary elections.
Several days before the elections, the "Union of Confident Citizens" stated that Directors of 114 from 136 schools and kindergartens, in a conversation with a figure introducing himself as employee in the HQ of the Republican party of Armenia, confessed that they made lists of voters and gave them to community or administrative offices or to the HQ of the Party. The organization presented audio records of phone conversations with the directors. After the scandal, 30 directors of schools and kindergartens addressed the court with charges against the organization and its representative Daniel Ioanesyan, demanding apologies and to pay 2 million AMD to each as a compensation for defaming their honor and dignity. The demand of payment totaling 60 million AMD and to apologies, Daniel Ioanesyan considers to be planned by the RPA.
