ArmInfo. The launched mechanisms are enough to prevent electoral fraud, said Karen Karapetyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, First Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), after voting at the poling station No.4/53.
He told journalists that he came to the polling station in a good mood. Commenting on the RPA chances to win the elections the Head of the Government noted: "Time will show".
As regards the RPA's possible formation of a coalition with other political forces, the Prime Minister noted that everything will be clear after the elections. "I want the elections to be held in a calm and tolerant atmosphere", he said.
Commenting on the information published by Union of Informed Citizens NGO that employees of education institutions campaign for the ruling party, Karen Karapetyan stated: "If they have made violations, they will be punished. If there are no violations, they will not be punished. There is no need to turn every little thing into a topic of discussion".
The Prime Minister takes a negative view of the clashes between the RPA and Tsaroukyan bloc representatives during the pre electoral period.
Earlier, Union of Informed Citizens NGO publicized audio files with a conversation of 114 principals of kindergartens and schools of the republic with the members of the organization, who introduced themselves as representatives of the RPA campaign headquarters and found out that the employees and the management of the educational institutions are campaigning for the ruling party, which is prohibited by the Electoral Code. The Prosecutor General's Office has investigated the audio files and it found obvious elements of crime only in one of them.
To recall, the RPA list comprises 133 candidates, and the proportional list consists of 64 candidates. The proportional list is topped by Vigen Sargsyan. The top five also include Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan, Ara Babloyan and Culture Minister Armen Amiryan.
The RPA itself has repeatedly stated that Karen Karapetyan will be the Prime Minister candidate from the Republican Party of Armenia after the April elections. As Armen Ashotyan, Vice Chairman of the ruling RPA stated, the rating and social apprehension of the new Government and its head are so high and the public faith in the new social policy is so strong that the RPA is sure of its success.
