ArmInfo.The President of Azerbaijan, speaking at a meeting with a group of servicemen, said that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is an internal affair of Azerbaijan.

"During the April battles, Armenians appealed to international  organizations, countries, so that battles were soon stopped. Then  they began to blame some countries for not helping them. While the  Nagorno- Karabakh issue is our internal issue. Nagorno-Karabakh is  recognized by the whole world by the countries- chairmen of the OSCE  Minsk Group as an integral part of Azerbaijan. The events that occur  and can occur in Nagorno-Karabakh and in all the occupied territories  are our internal business. No international organization or any  country can interfere in our internal affairs," Aliyev said, Trend  reports.

The Azerbaijani leader claims that the Armenian leadership completely  exposed itself during the April battles. "They suffered a bitter  defeat on the battlefield, and also received no support in the  political arena.  Despite the fact that they really counted on and  relied on this support. Not having received this support, they, as  always, began to blame various countries. In the end, they were  forced to admit defeat in the April battles. The Armenian leadership  has brought itself to such a shameful situation that Armenia still  feels its bitter consequences today. Armenia sacrificed its  independence for the sake of occupation of Azerbaijani territories.  Because, if not for this occupation, if they could create normal  relations with Azerbaijan, today Armenia could possibly prove itself  as an independent country. They, because of this occupation, can be  said to have been completely dependent on different countries,  various foreign circles, and international financial structures.  Because their economy is paralyzed, foreign debt has reached a  critical level, the poverty rate is 40-50 percent, there are no  prospects. The leadership of Armenia who chose this way, leads its  people to the abyss today," Aliyev said.

At the same time, he believes that the April battles, destroyed the  ideological foundations of Armenia. The head of Azerbaijan noted that  the forces approaching from a more pragmatic point of view to the  situation openly declare that if there are no relations with  Azerbaijan, Armenia does not have a future. Aliyev also said that  today a new situation arose both in the negotiation process and in  the region: "True, Armenia is trying to avoid negotiations. But it  will not succeed. No matter how hard it tried, it would have to  return to the negotiations. Because they are well aware of the  direction in which the situation will develop if negotiations are not  held. Of course, after the April battles, our position at the  negotiating table has become even stronger, and the entire  international community has clearly seen this."
