ArmInfo. Eurasia and its central segment - Russia - try to estimate themselves not as a peripheral but as center, and this is the very essence of what is going on now, Fyodor Lukyanov, the chief editor of Russia in Global Policy journal states his opinion.
" In political meaning borders of Eurasia is a mass of objectively interconnected territories. It used to be considered as peripheral: Chinese or European periphery, at that Europe being the western part of Eurasia. By now, this is not a cultural term, but based on economy and logistics , and it does not need a formalization from the point of borders. And it is a fact that Europe being a part of Eurasia would be beneficial for Russia, because it is quite unclear what will happen in Europe. Meanwhile, many things are solved exactly in European area," he mentioned.
Within all this, the Middle East, according to the expert estimations, is under conditions of painful and dangerous rearrangement, and there is nothing good to be expected of that. But the Middle East is also the generator of unsustainability waives, coming to the territory of Big Eurasia.
According to the expert, the current situation leading to ISIS fiasco, is close to the end. But the people, living at the territories being under ISIS control, do not disappear, they live where they did. And the issue of their return to the premanent residence location is very painful. Exactly this return will be the hardest consequence of the victory in the struggle against ISIS.
The contradictions between Iran and Turkey, being the key figure of Eurasian sustainability, are not good as well. And the heart of the matter is exactly how the eurasian space could separate itself of negative tendencies in Middle East processes.
