ArmInfo. Bulgarian Independence Day Celebrated in Armenia
At the opening ceremony Maria Pavlova Tsosorkova-Kaymaktchieva , the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Armenia delivered a greeting speech, mentioning that on march 3 whole the Bulgarian people celebrate the Independence day - Bulgaria Liberation Day
" The 1877-1878 Russian-Turkish War and the confidence of Bulgarian People opened the path to rehabilitate the Bulgarian State. Today we pay our tribute to the memory of thousand Bulgarian volunteers, who had struggled for their country independence. We also pay our deal of respect to thousand of Russians and Romanians, Lithuanians, Estonians, Armenians, Serbians and others, who gave their lives in that war.
This is one of the most important pages of Bulgarian history, when the solidarity was shown by all the European nations," the diplomat stated.
"Today Bulgaria is a strong and independent country, a proud member of EU and NATO, a factor of sustainability in the Eastern Europe and Black Sea Region. This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our membership in the Council of Europe. And the national and personal freedom are the ultimate values for us. I am happy to mention also that this year we mark the 25th anniversary of the Establishment of diplomatic relations with Armenia. Our relations are based on mutual trust and do have deep historical and cultural roots," the Ambassador summarized.
