ArmInfo. "We are running in the elections in the atmosphere of discontent, nihilism, disappointment, lack of public confidence in electoral process," Enlightened Armenia Party leader, lawmaker Edmon Marukyan, who tops the Yelk bloc list, says in an interview with ArmInfo.
"Today we are successfully trying to break these stereotypes in the society. We are trying to make people believe that it is possible to achieve true changes by means of elections. This is why our electoral slogan begins with the words 'elections' and 'changes'," Marukyan says.
The politician thinks that Yelk's success in removing the disappointment and the lack of public discontent, as well as in encouraging citizens to go to the polls will depend on how successfully it conducts its election campaign and how efficiently it spends its resources.
"We are trying to encourage not only passive voters, i.e. the citizens who simply take part in the voting, but also the people who attend the polling stations as observers, proxies and sponsors. It is naturally hard to carry out all these plans, but we are gradually achieving the necessary results," he notes.
