ArmInfo. It should not be considered that the discussion on Karabakh conflict between the Officials of Russia and Iran will positively contribute the conflict settlement in short term prospect. This was said by the Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Bahar Muradova while commenting the information on discussions on Nagorno- Karabakh conflict during the anticipated visit of Hassan Rouhani to Moscow in late March.
At the same time, the vice-speaker considers that the discussions on Nagorno-Karakh conflict is in interests of Russia and Iran. According to Muradova the opinion exchanging on Artsakh conflict during Hassan Rouhani's visit to Moscow is objectively justified, as Russia is the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair and Iran is a neighbor state bordering both Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"That is why the discussion of the given question is pretty natural. It would be naive to think that while a conflict like Artsakh conflict exists in the region, the relations in the region will be normal. Thus I consider that this discussion is in accordance with the interests of both states, while this question should be in those interests to assist the speedy resolution of the conflict. But I do not think that the results of the discussions will contribute the conflict settlement in the near future considering the just position and the legal interests of Azerbaijan. In any case, we can suppose that the discussions will be effective from the point of view of the importance of solving the problem and its remaining in the agenda", noted the vice-speaker, the Trend reposts.
