ArmInfo.OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair states spare no efforts for Karabakh conflict sides' dialogue resumption, said in a press conference in Yerevan the Ambassador of France to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier on February 14.
"Each Co-chair state of Minks Group are convinced that there is no alternative to the peace settlement of the conflict. We also consider that the situation in the conflict zone is unacceptable and satisfy no side as both sides have casualties", he noted. At the same time he added that the conflict sides had serious casualties last April continuing to the present day. According to French Diplomat, the implementation of modified mechanisms of confidence building is necessary in all levels of meeting.
At the same time, in Ambassador opinion, it is necessary to understand that the keys to settlement have the sides of conflict and not the intermediaries and political will is needed to achieve the settlement. "In its turn, France is ready to receive such a meeting of the sides which our President François Hollande said as well. The conflict can be settled only by peace negotiations. And in today's realities there are similar examples of conflict resolution", noted the Diplomat. Charpentier also considers that Madrid Principles may serve as a basis for conflict resolution.
The Diplomat degreed the claim that intermediaries make balanced statements in cases when there is a need of addressed calls: "Study the Minsk Intermediaries' statements for the last 1-1.5 years carefully, read and you will understand that those statements were addressed", resumed Charpentier.
